ATTENTION:
If you are in the San Fernando Valley, and I know a few of you are, go to your menu drawer and throw out any menus for China Inn. They gave me food poisoning where I threw up all night long (and hadn't eaten anything else that day or felt bad before or after that) and refused to give us refund or even admit culpability.

NEVER EVER EAT AT CHINA INN!

Which one is China Inn? (Sounds like the place that used to be in Van Nuys that my parents got tired of...)

The menu says on Victory in Reseda. I'll know more if I decide to go down and picket the fuckers till they pay us our 30 bucks back.

Oooh. Not good. Will remember that if we get to visit the San Fernando Valley.

Hope you're feeling better! Take care of yourself!

Martin was a doll as usual. I hadn't been interested in food all day so he comes home with fresh sourdough, gruyere cheese and as a special surprise triple chocolate haagen dazs...

Mainly I'm posting not so much for sympathy as to make sure I make a financial impact on these losers.
perlee_grace on May 26th, 2005 03:19 am (UTC)
Yay Martin! :-)

I'd be reporting the losers to the local health department. One of our fine local restaurants was closed down a year or so ago for health violations--like using frozen ducks as doorstops. Besides, if you got sick you probably weren't the only one. It's pretty scary to think how many people actually get food poisoning every year...

Should I ever make it to San Fernando Valley, I'll be sure to fart at China Inn and throw rotten tomatos at their windows...

I got food poisoning at a chinese place once, it might even have been another China Inn (but in a different state). I figured out that it was the rice pudding/tapioca. Apparently the either left it out too long or their refrigeration unit was screwed up (it wasn't as cold as usual). I haven't eaten any similar pudding since, and it's been at least a couple of years now.

My shrink made a point that if you buy cheap chinese food you're pretty much getting what you pay for....
