Things I've Been Planning on Posting and Never Get Around to...
1. If in Spiderman 2, Peter's suit ruins the rest of his laundry, doesn't that mean for it to bleed that much color that it has to be the FIRST TIME he's washed it? Since it was made?

2. If you use fake cuts to your journal for all of your icon posts, how will you ever know which communities are getting you views and which are a waste of time to post to?

3. What podcasts should I be following, and where do you find yours?

4. Buy your absinthe here. Also has a very good FAQ and drippers and reservoir glasses.

There's actually such a tiny amount after the distilling that pretty much all you get from it is a slight change in flavor. There is also no danger from the tiny amounts.

The only podcast I'm currently really subscribed to is They Might Be Giants podcast.. found at their site www.tmbg.com/pod.html I believe. Or search through iTunes.

I also used to listen to the Leaky Cauldron and Mugglenet ones, but they're a bit long and a little too speculating at times for my tastes. If I wasn't paranoid about sucking up hard drive space I'd probably still be listening.

Wil Wheaton also does one through his site, though they tend to be a little rambly. Neil Gaiman is supposed to be working on one and I'm excited about that, mostly because it probably means his daughter Maddy will appear eventually.

Obviously, I just wait for the sites I visit to mention that they have one, or suggest others.. I'm lazy like that, but it seems to be working out so far. :)

I like they might be giants, I'll definitely check that out! How rambly is the Wheaton? I'd probably enjoy that...

My current favorite podcast: Window To The Magic (which can be found easily by going to windowtothemagic.com). It's surprisingly relaxing listening to happy Disneyland sounds, especially when you have a good guess as to where in the park he's headed to (he does an audio game of guess-where-he's-at, sometimes for prizes, sometimes not). Be forewarned, though, that because this is high-quality sound, his sound files are a bit larger than normal... and the average podcast is at least an hour long, sometimes an hour and a half.

Wow, I hope I have space for that! I subscribed, though, am downloading now. Where do you find yours?

They don't ACT like it. I mean, he throws his away at one point. It sorta means nothing if there are another 15 at home in his closet. Granted he MADE it, he can make another, but if it's supposed to mean all they make it out to mean in the movie, then I'd assume there's only 1.

That particular scene (or sequence of scenes) is trying to show that he is poor and can't afford to wash his costume seperately like he could when he was living with his Aunt as well as show how un-normal his life is as Spiderman. It probably is the first time he ever washed it with other clothes but not the first time he washed it.

In the comics, Peter Parker sewed and mended his costume on his own. Even had a spare suit every now and then.

They don't ACT like he has another costume, though, with the whole throwing it away scene. They act like there's only one. And something only bleeds like that, that hardcore, the very first time you wash something. I can't imagine it bleeding like that if it had been washed before, regardless of what else had been with it at the time....

I was tired, but now I'm kind of out of it from reading all of the wonderful absinthe info and links. So, my spacey comment is in regard to ruining your laundry. I am too tired to remember how his laundry looked when it came out, but I can say a good friend put a several times washed red shirt in with her whites and ALL of the whites ended up a medium-light pink. Even her husbands tightie whiteys tee hee. He was a jerk and had to dress in a macho dude locker room. I wish I could have been there with a camera. I'm not sure if a little bleach made it worse, or if it would have helped if only she had added it. I just saw the results and cracked up at the implications. So if Spidermans laundry looked pink with maybe a few splotches of blue, it could be done without the grody thought that he wore the same unwashed suit all of the time. Stink-a-rama.
Frittersfritters on January 3rd, 2006 07:54 am (UTC)
The first time I found the absinthe links I was lost in them for over an hour, good info there.

As far as you know, can something bleed enough to change other colors if it's been washed once already?

My favorite podcast is not really one that most people I know would like (Except people from work) it is the Coffee Geek podcast. I find podcasts at the iTunes Music Store, and Podcast Alley (http://www.podcastalley.com)
Frittersfritters on January 4th, 2006 05:32 am (UTC)
Podcast Alley looks really massively useful, I bookmarked it, and used it to find CoffeeGeek. I may not keep it, but I'm very interested in hearing it once ^_^
