Weird question...
Does anyone know how I can make two different friend pages, one with communities and rss feeds and one without? So I can check up just on my friends and not everything every now and then? Are there customizable web sites or an S2 edit or something? Or even if you remove all your communities and rss feeds if you still stay a "member" and can add them back or if taking them off your friends pages means they're gone? I would think you'd at least lose the rss feeds...

What you're looking for I think are Custom Friends Groups. You can create and edit them here.

Once you've created groups, you can view your friends page filtered by those groups from here.

Yeah!! Just make custom friends groups... like I have all you real people types on one called "peeps," and it's basically all I check anymore. :-P Occasionally individual comms... anyway. An easier way to get to viewing the group once you've created it, rather than having to go all the way to the page he linked there and clickie a zillion things, is just add the name of the group to your lj address after /friends/... ie the address of my little custom group there is hakuen.livejournal.com/friends/peeps

^_^

I hope your arms are starting to get better. *hugs*

You can check your LF by your friends groups? And here I always thought that was just the way to divide up which of your friends see what.

Wild.

I can also go to my info page, and next to the Friends menu choice there is an elipsis (the ... thing), and from there you select the group you want and it shows only them.

query, oh webmistress of the gods, what's an rss feed?
Fritters: Thank You Mr.Know-it-all by Frittersfritters on April 12th, 2006 07:26 am (UTC)
It's a way to add commonly updated things, like comics or news, to your friends page. It stands for Really Simple Syndication. Basically it's an html'ey kinda code that you can put on your friends page for updates of things you like to follow.

Yeah, now that I don't have to wade through all the community stuff that I like I'm staying up on my friends' lives WAY better. And I can still go to the communities page and get most of my info without being overloaded....
