For the History Geeks...

You don't come across a lot of cruises that include the phrase "aerial attack weather permitting..."

They GO to SEA! In a Liberty Ship! How FRIKKIN' cool is that!?!

postrophe on February 10th, 2007 07:38 pm (UTC)
So like I said, is this Going to Sea a just-happened perk, or have they been doing it a while? I saw their thing about air attack shows at the floating museum last leay, but I don't remember anything about Going Down to the Sea in Ships...

(I still say going down to the sea in ships is bad; they should go down to the sea and Then get into the ships.)

Perhaps they're being towed down to the sea? And then they launch?

According to their web site they've been at least able to go out from pretty much the get-go. I don't know if they have been going out, but they certainly could.

Well, I suppose it depends. I mean, I guess taking the ship down makes sense if the sea is a ways away...

if the sea is a ways away... well, they better grease the ways.
(And I thought nobody was /In/ the ships when they go down the ways to the sea.)

Actually, if I remember correctly, they used to use tallow. The next time you see the Queen Mary, just think of all the cows that went into launching her.

Insert obvious mooooving line, here.

Moooving line?
May have to get back to you on that... *awaiting bovine inspiration*
