A Heapin' Helpin' of Potpourri...
Yeah, I know, it's getting tedious, at least subject-wise. It's either this or me posting 3 times a day, though. I suppose I could start pulling entry subjects out of my ass in a lame attempt to keep it interesting. Adult Swim seems to think it works for their bumps.

1. Machines that can see the future. Funky strangeness. And you can see a whole bunch of these at once by visiting here. I'm wondering what a real spike looks like, just to keep an eye out for it, you know?

2. On a more up note, I realized a lot of you might not have seen the fake Smithsonian letter. It's one of the funniest things I've ever come across online, and it's old, but still, a lot of you might not have seen it. Even if you have seen it, it's fun to read every now and then.

In theory, a Gryffinclaw image should be loading here. In theory.
You're a Gryffinclaw!: You are a determined and
intelligent person who is used to getting your
own way all the time. You are very passionate
about your beliefs and will defend them until
your last breath. Often Griffenclaws work as
lawyers or activists because they have feel so
strongly about a certain subject. You feel that
knowledge is to be used in a practical way and
you often have a very low tolerance for people
you consider of low intelligence. Although you
aren't a social butterfly, you don't have
trouble making fiends, people are usually drawn
to you. Your weakness is that sometimes you can
be insensitive, you're too busy being witty
that you don't realize that you're hurting
peoples' feelings, often your friends. With the
wit of a Ravenclaw and the passion of a
Gryffindor you can face all your battles in
life head on!

For an incidental, the closest one of the EGG stations to us is #1113, which is located at an unmentioned location in Los Angeles. :)

I concentrated very hard on #1113 between 12:28 and 12:29; while I was headed to bed, I'm half-tempted to wait the ten minutes and then see whether the concentration rates in a "ding!" noise sometime in that period. :)
Frittersfritters on February 14th, 2005 09:15 am (UTC)
I've thought about that too! I think we ought to have an "egg" party where we all stop and concentrate for a whole ten minutes on that one....

Machines that can see the future...

Dang, I Must get a copy of What The Bleep so you can judge for yourself...

"...you often have a very low toler ance for people you consider of low intelligence...
...you don't have trouble making fiends..."

Sounds like...

Frittersfritters on February 14th, 2005 09:15 am (UTC)
What do those three things have in common??

Um, re-read the place where your original meme is supposed to be saying "...making fRiends..."
...and you'll understand the comment...

It's odd, I've reached the conclusion that there's a subconscious connection between all human minds, and have anecdotal evidence of a personal sort to indicate that this is so. But still, I accept that there may be other explanations for what I've experienced and observed, it's simply that all of my evidence is accounted for by this concept/theory. However, in reading the article, it seems that they automatically make the leap to assuming prediction of future events, when that's not necessarily the best answer. I wonder if they've considered the idea that all human knowledge is able to be accessed on a subconscious level, and that the spike before 9-11 as well as premature reactions to shown images could be due to an awareness of information not known consciously. In the 9-11 incident, it's likely that hundreds of people had some idea of what was going on, or at least that something terrible was being initiated that day. And in the image tests, did the test giver know which images were being shown next? Subconscious telepathy is more reasonable to me than global precognition.

Then again, judging from some dreams I've had myself, and what I remember of them years later, if my own memories are accurate enough to be evidence at all, then precognition does happen. Which would leave the question for both telepathy and precog: How do they occur? Once we know that, it shouldn't be too much more to get to the step where we could have conscious control over these phenomenas.

BTW, I don't know if horizontal greyish lines are common at this site, but while I was watching the images change, it didn't show until I focused on trying to make one: http://noosphere.princeton.edu/tapestry.html

Also, my house combo result is a bit surprising, but accurate. I used to be more like a Ravenpuff, but not so much any more.

You're a Slytherclaw!: By nature you are rational
and a realist. Some people may call you cynical
and elitist but this doesn't matter to you. You
don't depend on other people's opinions to
determine how you live your life. You are
generally cautious and prefer to weigh the
consequences before you act. In conflicts you
prefer to remain neutral and aloof. You value
intelligence and you are a natural diplomat,
you can convince people to do what you want
them to do. Your weakness is that you sometimes
think more with your head than with your heart
and it leads to isolation. With the
intelligence of a Ravenclaw and the subtlety of
a Slytherin you will be sure to achieve all
your goals!

I think the grey lines are a browser thing. I had one then it went away, and I don't think it refreshes that often.

That's a pretty scary answer on the HP quiz...
OwlDragonowldragon1 on February 16th, 2005 05:13 am (UTC)
It seems to refresh pretty fast for me. I wish I could also get to the link you provided to see the individual readouts, but going there locks my entire computer up solid.

Why is that a scary answer? I wouldn't want to actually be a Slytherin, but that does show what few traits I share with their stereotypical member. I don't like manipulating people, but it's true that I could if I wanted or needed to... Then again, the answer did kind of skip over how I do actually care about others and also do my best to always act with honor, both traits of the two houses my results didn't include.

Hey there.

I had a question: I wanted another icon made but didn't want to keep bugging you. But whenever I go to an icon community there are soooo many requests that I'm completely washed out.

Could you direct me to someone? I already have the image, I just need the same type of thing that you did before... some cropping and flashy letters.
Frittersfritters on February 15th, 2005 10:24 pm (UTC)
Should be okay. How flashy do you want the letters?
Running Mouse: Annaoutragme_982 on February 15th, 2005 11:14 pm (UTC)
It doesn't matter how flashy they are, as long as it's a nice font.

Here is the image if you would like to see it:

I really want it to say "The Universe will provide"
Frittersfritters on February 16th, 2005 03:06 am (UTC)
Pick one...

Let me know which one you like, you need to save these to your hard drive if you want any cause the hosting here sucks....
Running Mouseoutragme_982 on February 16th, 2005 02:27 pm (UTC)
Thank you so very much.
Frittersfritters on February 16th, 2005 09:19 pm (UTC)
So you like the pinky/orange one? I tried to actually make one match your dominant journal colors...

That's one adorable little rodent.
