That's all. Just links and memes. Thankfully, my life has been relatively quiet lately.

Beverage Bored? That'll change.

Okay, on this next one, how did I get a TIE of Islam and Christianity? As it is, it's odd because I so often get Judaism...

You scored as Islam. Your beliefs are most similar to those of Islam. Do more research on Islam and possibly consider taking the shahadah and officially becoming a Muslim, if you aren't already.

Despite the actions of some - who go against the teachings of Islam - Islam is a religion of peace; the word "islam" means "peace through submission to God." "Muslim" means "one who submits to God." Islam is the third of the three Abrahamic faiths, and it shares much with Judaism in Christianity; its differences are the acceptance of Muhammad as the last and final prophet, and the oneness of God - in other words, that Jesus, though he was a revered prophet, was not in fact God, and only one God exists. Apparently the Taliban could not read (though their name means "students"), because the Qur'an states that men and women are equal as believers, and that all believers should be educated and seek knowledge. Modesty in dress and behavior is required in Islam for both men and women to preserve the values of society and move the emphasis from superificial appearance to intelligence, knowledge, and God.

If it's not one thing, it's another. Your life is a pitiful wreck, and it's all you ever write about. Why don't you at least make up a happy story for once. Your friends would appreciate that.

Oh GREAT! All I need is a meme that says "everyone is getting tired of hearing you whine." Oh, great, NOW I'm whining about the meme! And now I'm whining about whining about the meme! I'm SCREWED!!

Sadly, I have no need for an egg plate...

It's just a rough patch, my dear. Or as mom would say, it's a hiccup. The kids at the daycare don't have bad days (not a good term to use, apparently), they have hiccups. Because that last meme pulls from your more recent posts, it'll change as you post more. Try again when you're feeling more peppy (what a word to use...)

I need to take a pic of the salt and pepper shakers I got at the gift exchange at Christmas. Santa and Mrs Claus. Santa's holding the mistletoe and when you put them together, they're kissing. I tried to find a pic on line (I think they're Avon) but they must have been discontinued. They're adorable! Another task for this weekend...
Frittersfritters on March 10th, 2005 07:20 pm (UTC)
As adorable as I'm sure the Clauses are, it's hard, in my eyes, to outdo Easter babies. I'm a stone cold sucker for chicks and ducks and bunnies. There is no more dangerous time for me to have money, not even Halloween or Christmas, than at Easter, because I will come home with chicky/ducky themed EVERYthing.

I find that moodring is more fun when you put in the names of people you know. Though mine says I'm ridiculously happy, and I can't agree with that. I think I just remember to use it when I'm happy rather than depressed.
Fritters: Ed Peering by Frittersfritters on March 10th, 2005 07:21 pm (UTC)
So it's not a new meme? Never seen it before...
Phoenix Anewphoenix_anew on March 10th, 2005 08:52 pm (UTC)
Oh no, I meant I remember to type in a mood in my journal when I'm happy. :) I think I get worried that people who don't like me are reading the journal, so I try not to give them the satisfaction of knowing I'm sad...

They sell Jones soda at all the local places. You should totally come visit me in Amherst.
Fritters: FF Curse your betrayal by quebellyfritters on March 10th, 2005 07:25 pm (UTC)
They sell Jones here too, that's not really what I'm pimping. I suppose I should have been more exact. I was trying to point out all the cool and different non-mainstream things they have, as well as the old retro sodas as well. This is the guy that brought back Bubble Up.
OwlDragonowldragon1 on March 23rd, 2005 11:49 am (UTC)
I at least understand the point of mentioning the soda page. :) I also like the retro candy they list there. While I could get 100 Grand and Big League Chew at a gas station here, I couldn't get Bottlecaps, and I'd completely forgotten about Black Jack gum and Big Hunk. I always liked Bottlecaps, especially the root beer ones. I wonder what else I've forgotten that I'll find looking through the candy and sodas.

BTW, for some reason I got Buddhism, but I think it's because I don't understand half their questions, or know how to rate some that I do understand. Second place was tied between Hinduism and Satanism. I don't have a clue why Satanism is there, but I might eventually bother to tweak the answers to get it, and see how it's described.

I haven't checked the shakers or the other memes yet, so I might add another comment to this in a few minutes. ;)
Frittersfritters on March 26th, 2005 04:48 am (UTC)
Mmmm....bottlecaps. Every few years I find some and then buy enough to get sick of them for a few years more ^_^

And the more I hear about that religion quiz, the less I think it's accurate....
OwlDragon: Owlowldragon1 on March 29th, 2005 02:51 am (UTC)
Is that a surprise? Really, considering the accuracy of most quizzes, it isn't.

For instance, while everyone's behaved in ways fitting the other three Hogwarts groups, how often do they get yours right? They keep trying to claim that both of us are Gryffindors. While I may not be a Slytherin, I don't think I'm a Gryffindor. I think most of those quiz makers are under the mistaken impression that the most courageous group is also the most moral, which isn't always so. And besides, while all the known dark wizards were Slytherins, that doesn't necessarily mean all Slytherins are dark wizards. Manipulative and scheming perhaps, but not necessarily evil. And they certainly don't have a monopoly on pride, there's a lot of that in all but the typically modest Hufflepuffs.

I think I might enjoy being a Slytherin, I'd take advantage of my intellect that apparently wasn't quite enough to make it into Ravenclaw, to ever so cleverly take charge of them and beat them all into shape. There are far too many irresponsible and dishonest Slytherins giving the group as a whole a bad name. I mean, Snape wasn't really such a git until he was tormented by Gryffindors.

Aren't they? Don't know WHAT I'd do with an egg tray, though...
OwlDragonowldragon1 on March 23rd, 2005 12:30 pm (UTC)
You do know you don't have to buy the plate, you can buy just the shakers, right? It may not have been that way before, but it sure is now.

BTW, one of the memes you put in this entry is now on my journal, with my results rather than yours of course. ;)
