38 Memories/Magnetic Rose icons...
Firstly, if you haven't seen this anime, you should. And I recommend not looking at the icons if you're planning to and haven't yet. Here there be spoilers.

Secondly, the usual rules apply. If you take and use any of these icons, you are agreeing to credit me in keywords (just put "Fritters" somewhere). If you don't know how to credit in keywords, don't take any icons or learn how to credit, please. I've been working on these for months, literally. Also, you can do whatever you like with the bases as long as I get dual credit with you.

Thirdly, sorry about the quality on these. It was frequently a bitch and half and then some plus a monkey to get these pigs under 40k. And if you have any size problems with these let me know and I'll reoptimize them.

Fourthly, as usual, I need my friends to let me know if these are all readable and viewable, so I know which ones I can post in quality_icons. Thanks, guys ^_^

I've been getting a lot of that, so I found a good review to point people at here...

But here's the main part...

Magnetic Rose - Directed by Koji Morimoto
After picking up a distress call and being legally obliged to respond, a group of space-bound garbage collectors are lured into a surreal landscape full of mystery and a strange beauty.
Awestruck and confused, the astronauts fall deeper into the 'ship', continuing their search for the person who set off the original distress call.

And so at this point, I'll cease describing the plot and dive straight into the proper review. I don't want to spoil this great story for anyone.

For me, Magnetic Rose is a fantastic creation, both highly original and incredibly tender; this is one short feature that basically defines my love of anime.

Morimoto superbly weaves together an atmospheric setting with a growing sense of claustrophobia. He slowly reveals a chilling, sad story and despite the obvious sci-fi setting, we are treated to a memorable cast of characters.
Having since discovered that the great Satoshi Kon (Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers) was behind the direction of the characters, it should come as no surprise to see his trademark mix of grit and realism coming to the fore yet again.

The operatic soundtrack is an absolute treat, and fans of anime soundtracks will no doubt be pleased to hear that is was composed by the legendary Yoko Kanno; the genius behind soundtracks of the likes of Cowboy Bebop, Macross Plus and Wolf's Rain, to name but a few.
Is this a dream team or what?

Add to the above some inspired visuals and beautiful, fluid animation, and what we end up with is a near perfect example of why anime is so loved around the world. Magnetic Rose is brilliant.

All the icons are readable. And pretty too. :)

Its a very different style of anime from the kind I usually like, but I do have to say it looks intriguing, even if some of it has now been spoiled for me. I'm gonna have to see if Netflix has it..

I'd love it if you did. I don't usually go for that visual style, either, I just happened to see the World Best Anime Music Video made to this and fell in love. And the anime was better than the video, which is only barely possible...

What was the video? I have a love and addiction for AMVs.

I went and added it.. the funny thing was I think Netflix had recommended it before, and based on how it looked I just sort of shrugged it off. Glad you made these so I could know. :)

Go here and you'll see it, it's the file that starts with 'kevin caldwell', he's the genius who made it. A: It has major spoilage B: I saw the video first and still adored the anime, so it may not spoil it for you so much as whet your appetite

Wow.. absolutely beautiful. Not to mention fantastic editing. Thanks so much for sharing.. I'm definitely still going to watch the movie. It tells you a lot but still leaves enough to make you wonder exactly whats going on.

I'm thinking of posting the link for the rest of my friends...

All gorgeous and fully readable. After that file you sent me, the AMV for Phantom of the Opera using this anime, I really REALLY want to see it.

I was wondering if you'd seen that yet... I took all the icons directly from the amv, actually. The small size of most AMVs and the fact most are directly importable into premiere makes them perfect for iconning.

I'm thinking of making a post for people to download the amv, but I'm concerned it's too spoilery....

never seen nor heard of that anime, sorry. :\ on the other paw these are very good icons. ^^ On the "Awaken" icons the text is a little small and hard to read, but it's readable. Neat work!
