Art Homework
If you think sitting down to a blank canvas is hard, try 160 blank canvasses.

Yeah, we have to do 10 thumbnail sketches to illustrate each one of 16 different art concepts. It can all be abstract, if fact, it's highly encouraged to keep it abstract, but after the first few they all begin to look alike. I'm maybe 25 into it...

This is what separates the artists from those who are simply taking an art class. :)

As flatteringly as I could take that, I believe it takes more than 160 abstract sketches to make an artist. You're sweet, though.

It's not quantity. It's the work that's put into it.

See, what I meant is that an artist can make those 160 sketches into something more, a group, one large whole - and so can you, if you put your mind to it. Or you can just do 160 sketches. :)

In a year or two I'll be ambitious. For now, I just want it done ^_^

Woah! 160?? What size??? When are they do... maybe I can help with ideas??

10 abstract pictures demonstrating 16 concepts of art. They're just thumbnails in tiny squares done in pencil, but trying to make 160 abstracts and keep them all different is frustrating as hell.

When you can only draw like 10 shapes, how are you supposed to make 10 different "variety" canvasses that don't look all the same?

How about shading. I always found that different shading could work wonders to make things look different.

I finally finished that part. I still have 80 to go though, just in different categories. As it is, we're going to have to reproduce some of these in colored paper and we have three colors, so there's only so much shading we can do. Pretty much only to differentiate the 3 colors.

Wow. And when is that due? I hope it's not due tomorrow. That's allot. At least they're just icon sized, not like the ones david uses.
I understand trying to keep them different. That's hard!

It's due Monday, but tomorrow is history so I have no time for it then. And Friday is my Day of Sanity. And Sunday is my Day of Rest, so anything I don't finish tonight comes out of my Saturday =P

I completely understand why you want to get it done now. I still think that allot to do for one class. How many have you finished already? Hope you finish tonight. :)

I've got 60 left now, I think. Now I'm having problems because pretty much all of my designs have rhythm, movement and repetition and I have to have specific examples for each that don't work better for another category.

Eesh! I'm sorry. I did a yin yang as a panting. Also did a sun. Don't know if that helps at all. *hugs*

Just your talking to me helps immensely. I need breaks from that stuff and socializing really takes the stress off.

Ooh, I never IM, it keeps me from getting stuff done. You can walk away from LJ and continue a conversation next time you get a break, I always feel rude walking away from IM unless companies arrived or dinner is done....
Tanyaanyagotr on September 28th, 2006 07:17 am (UTC)
hehe. I understand that!! But in the future if you are ever really bored and I happen to be on... :P I usally end up being the one to walk away because either baby need me or David make me get off. lol.

Porn. And Soviet Constructivism.
But then again, those are my answers to pretty much everything.
