As of 1:00 am, with both air conditioners on full blast most of the day, we have finally gotten the living room under 80 degrees. Thankfully, tomorrow is supposed to be cooler, and only get to 103/40.

EDIT: Whoops. My bad. L.A. Times says it will be 111 tomorrow...

Are your cats flat too? Mine litter the house with little lying on their sides flatness.
Frittersfritters on September 2nd, 2007 06:58 pm (UTC)
Not much because we've been able to keep it under 85 most of the time. They do get less active, though. How's your place, temp-wise?
lironesslironess on September 2nd, 2007 11:07 pm (UTC)
The net says 100. I need to get the thermomator out of the fridge to see what it is inside. We have fans on but I am in the spare room and I am sweating.

The router plug is defective so I have to use the one in here, not in the bedroom where the air can be turned on.

Must not be too bad, the cats were not flat when I came home today, they wanted food! NOW!

You have NO air conditioning??

That's not healthy!
lironesslironess on September 3rd, 2007 01:46 am (UTC)
I have one air conditioner in the bedroom, which is not even cooling that room very well but it is better than nothing combined with a fan.
Frittersfritters on September 3rd, 2007 01:47 am (UTC)
Have you tried cleaning it out? That sometimes helps...
lironesslironess on September 3rd, 2007 08:58 pm (UTC)
It's clean, it is just really really hot. The net says 103 but I think they are lying.

In a fan only part of the house, here, it is 90.

I want to move all of the entertainment stuff into my bedroom were it is cooler.

P.S. The cats are not staying in that room even though it is a lot cooler than the rest of the house, don't know why.

Sounds like my mom's place, where the temp goes from 79 to 90, depending on how far from the living room ac you're standing...

I was worried about you guys 'cause I know your ac works about as well as my mom's had before we replaced it a few weeks ago - and she says right out that we prolly saved her life doing that...

We've been burning the trons and keeping the air on more, it's helped. We're just trying not to be part of the problem if the grid goes down, so we're tending to use a lot less energy near the middle of the day.

My god... and I thought it was bad down here. It's fine downstairs, though. I'm staying in my room to suffer with the cat out of obstinacy more than anything. I have no idea how hot but it was better today with the blinds pulled and two fans on. Sweating, very humid, but I was able to sleep through the worst of it, so it couldn't have been too bad...

I hope it goes down soon.

Our air conditioning is pretty decent, so you have it way worse right now. I'm just hoping that we don't lose power, that would be bad for the cats.

You gots good ac now? Good!

I'm not Always unavailable saturdays; just afternoons. (Almost called you guys this weekend but with the heat I was so sure you'd be heading out somewhere else...)
Frittersfritters on September 4th, 2007 04:41 pm (UTC)
Saturday? We were home until about 5:30 because we didn't want to hit the heat but the library was closing.

And no, the air conditioning still isn't GOOD, but if we start it up early enough it stays at 85 or lower during the day.

Hey, my mom has a brand new 14 thou BTU one which still can't get better than that...

(And I figured you'd be at that Queen Mary Art Deco thing...)
