I know I've posted a lot of anti-scientology crap lately. The 24 hours LJ protest gave me some time to think (and some time to bang my head on my desk, saying "Is it OVER YET??") and I'm thinking you guys are probably tired of the anti-scientology stuff, right?

Had enough of the scientology crap?

Bored to tears by it
It's okay
Post more!

The only one that bothered me was the one that had the horrific descriptions. I would rather not read that kind of thing. I know you were making a point for those of us who don't know what is going on. I read a lot of stuff about Lisa and that was enough for me to know how bad they are.

They're starting to crack down on people more so I figured now is a good time to quit bothering people anyways.

They are starting to go after people that talk about them in their bogs? That's creepy.

I may be in the minority, but reading about suppurating abscesses grosses me out. Perhaps because I have had to clean them out before. Trust me, you never get used to the smell.

I chose "post more" and then I saw this comment. I don't want you to be in danger in any way, so if it feels safer for you to stop, stop. I think the main thing they get you with is copyright, isn't it? So definitely avoid a "this is what they believe" kind of post.

You have been posting about it quite a bit, but I know that's because you're very angry/passionate about it.

I would say however, that if you're going to post something graphic like the descriptions of torture... you might want to put it behind a cut, or with a warning. I didn't have a problem with it, but I don't really have a problem with gore (and a surprising inability to be turned off my food).

I didn't find that post that graphic, honestly. But there you go.

SOMEONE MENTIONED IT!! I've been using it for DAYS and kept waiting for someone to MENTION IT!! THAAAAANK YOOOOOOUUUUU!!!

It's a picture I saw in the Huntington Galleries YEARS ago and it just totally spoke to me. The full version is way better. I was looking into visiting the Huntington again and noticed most of their stuff was online now, and wondered if I could find the picture that I barely remembered, except it was a lady looking out and it spoke to me. And I did!

Here's the biggest version of it online.

I'd tell you more about it, but the basics are on the page and the rest probably only is interesting to me.

EDIT: Detail shot, where you can make out how cool Joshua Reynolds captured her expression...

I just want to say that your posts have really opened my eyes as to what's going on behind the scenes. Before reading the links you put up, the only thing I knew about scientology was that it was created by a man who was quoted as saying that the best way to become rich was to start a religion.

If you're worried about posting your opinion, I vote that you continue to post your informative links (unless you think it's best to be cautious about that as well - safety first!).

I'm curious why you didn't vote in the poll?

Or was that your vote?

I'm glad you're good with knowing more, I know a lot of people don't like to hear unpleasantness.
