NFayre Visit - Picture Post Pt. I
Some of you may recall that nfayre visited recently. You're probably wondering "Gee, Fritters, where are the fabulous picture posts you make when someone visits?" Well, wonder no longer!

You weren't thinking that? Erm... well, there are pictures anyways...

We greeted nfayre at the airport holding up a sign that said "BOB". We would have used the original name on the sign, but looking for "Porco" seemed rude.

The next day we decided to hit Travel Town and the Griffith Observatory, since they were both on her list, both inexpensive, and right next to each other. (ANGELENO ALERT: YOU CAN PARK UP AT THE OBSERVATORY AGAIN!) Much like when robyngoodfellow visited, Michelle seemed to have brought her own clouds from up in Canada, and they stayed with us most of the time she was here. Here's an overcast picture of her and I at Travel Town...

A train...

This was actually designed to be pulled by horses, which is awesome, but the way they're displaying it, you can't tell...

Haven't you always wanted to play with one of these? No playing allowed =(

We then saw a sign saying tomorrow was National Train Day. Well, darn, here we were at Travel Town and we missed it by one day. Ah, well. I loved the logo, though, so I got a shot of the sign...

A train...

We decided to be wild and ride the cute little train that circles the place...

Our conductor...

All the local guys are planning on visiting Travel Town now, just to meet the Cutie Conductor, huh??

All aboard!

Part one of amusing signs we saw while on the little train...

Do not touch anything moving. Do not touch anything stationary. Just sort of hover there for the rest of the day and MAAAAAAAAYBE you'll be safe...

This one (pic by Michelle) needs no explanation.

Two moar shots from Travel Town...

After this, we headed to the observatory, but not before stopping and taking picture of an Awesome Tree.

I'm going to throw an apology in right here, because I took VERY few pictures of the observatory. Martin and I were there last year for his birthday, and it was a beautiful sunny day, and I just didn't see the point in getting a bunch of grey photos of the place when I already had so many beautiful sunny shots. But here's a cute shot of Michelle taking a photo of the Hollywood sign...

The Griffith Observatory has downstairs in the main exhibit area a bronze statue of Einstein. I was able to get a shot of some cute kid climbing on it...

"I wuvs you, Einstein!!"

We got a shot of the three of us with him...

After this, we saw the planetarium show, which was AWESOME and highly recommended then headed home to Feed Starving Kitties. Later, we met up with postrophe and krystalemerges for teppan. Krystal got a shot of the rest of us.

We tried to find somewhere to sit and talk and have coffee, but the local Starbucks was packed, so we headed to Borders, originally for the same thing, but we ended up all wandering through the store for an hour or two chatting and collecting books to buy. Hey, we all like books ^_^

Then, we all split up and went and crashed ^_^

re "needs no explanation"...
I just sent you a similar pic I took at my work.
(The instruction is supposed to be for car sorting in big yards, but...)

Re: re "needs no explanation"...
Yeah, I tried to respond, but apparently you can't text someone a ^_^ so the whole thing crashed. I thought the picture you sent was bordering on romantic ^_^

Re: re "needs no explanation"...
I thought the "do not hump" was more romantic, because only THAT train is supposed to be coupled with it...

Re: re "needs no explanation"...
...but not humping...

That's cute! I hadn't thought of that! Maybe the Eistein statue IS the time machine??

Yeah, the conductor was a cutie.

I have a SHIRT of the train day poster!! How awesome is that!

You took a pic of the back of my head?!?! I still have to put my pics on my computer. Yet another chore for this weekend... That and cleaning, and packing and water change. Oh, and must buy beer. Can't forget to buy beer.

I still want to know what Einstein is looking at....

"Contact with moving or stationary object can cause injury." - Well, we're all just screwed, aren't we...

Lending Excel Saga to a co-op at work. Want to see if her brain starts to bleed. I still love the quotes on the back of my box. "I laughed. I cried. I suffered mental damage."

You took a pic of the back of my head?!?!

Well, yeah. How do you get candid shots if you announce them all the time? Besides, why do you wear rhinestones back there if no one's supposed to see them?

I seem to remember there USED to be something that mentioned Einstein was looking at something specific he discovered or a rare type of phenom or something, but I can't remember exactly...
