Multipost of Doomy Goodness

While I am preparing a picture post of what I did yesterday (which ALSO reads like a multipost!) here is a pile of things I've been saving up to share with y'all....

Stuck in a wheelchair for the rest of your life? Bored? May as well play at being a Dalek for a while ^_^

Time to shop! Because haven't you lived without a steampunk ray guy long enough? Dr. Grordbort offers a wide selection of mad scientist steampunk doom for all your lasering-your-enemies needs.

Also under the shop category, although more reasonably priced than portable ray guns, is an awesome shirt you must own. It's a vampire. You go into the dark, and his eyes and his teeth glow. You go out into the sun, he catches on fire!

By now most of you who care have heard that Stargate Atlantis is canceled. If you've got a spare moment, why not sign a petition to try and save it. The worst that could happen is you took a few seconds out of your day, eh? A small price for the possible best case scenario...

(Yeah, the petition MAY be down, check it out, bookmark if necessary?)

Your result for The Perception Personality Image Test...

NBPC - The Daydreamer

Nature, Background, Big Picture, and Color

You perceive the world with particular attention to nature. You focus on the hidden treasures of life (the background) and how that fits into the larger picture. You are also particularly drawn towards the colors around you. Because of the value you place on nature, you tend to find comfort in more subdued settings and find energy in solitude. You like to ponder ideas and imagine the many possibilities of your life without worrying about the details or specifics. You are in tune with all that is around you and understand your life as part of a larger whole. You are a down-to-earth person who enjoys going with the flow.

Save SGA or I might go into withdrawal and die!

Yeah, the movies are too far between.

You've heard about SGUniverse, right? It's going to have a younger feel, supposedly. Is it me, or did we see a preview on "200"?
Robyn Goodfellow: overratedrobyngoodfellow on August 26th, 2008 05:22 am (UTC)
I did hear about it, and yes, the 'I'd tap that' scene from 200 did spring to mind. Mike and I were trying to decide who the familiar face was going to be though. We never did come to an agreement.

I was talking about it with one of the guys at work, and he said he was worried for me. My withdrawal symptoms get pretty bad just during hiatus. What would happen if there was no Stargate at all. I don't think I could go cold turkey.

Those quizzes are the kind you HAVE to "sign up" or "join" with name, valid email, etc, in order to get your results, right?
Frittersfritters on August 26th, 2008 07:37 pm (UTC)
Nope, I signed up with no one for either. I almost NEVER do those, so 97% of the time you can take any test I post without worrying about that.

It wouldn't let me get my results without giving email, name, address, etc... both from my comp & Krystal's so it wasn't a mac thing...

Okay, that is like voodoo magick or something, because I never gave my email or address to anyone....

I attended the Stargate CreationCon in Chicago this past weekend (although, only on Sunday) and the cancellation was the topic of much discussion. The way I understand it, it was the producer's choice and not SciFi's to cancel the show. So, if that, in fact, is the case, any attempt to save the show should not be directed toward SciFi.
I attended the Charity Auction Breakfast and had the opportunity to meet/speak with David Nykl who was floored by the announcement. Ben Browder was also there on Sunday and he mentioned at the opening of his Q&A that he only heard about it while at the convention.

David Nykl rocks.

I keep waiting for Hewlett to mention it on his blog. Maybe he's still too floored.

I have to confess, I had no idea who David Nykl was at the beginning of the con. I am a Scaper-Gater.

But, after meeting him at the con, I am now a fan! He told us about being born in Czech then moving to Canada. He was in Prague when the wall came down. Apparently he operated the largest English (American) speaking theater group there and that's what got him his big break.

It sounds very much like the cast and crew were taken by surprise by this announcement. I was surprised by the fact that it was a decision made by the Producers and not SciFi.

Haven't really heard the term scaper-gater, but I get it. He sounds awesomely cool. The SGA credits have been pissing me off for about 2 seasons with all the swapping people in and out but Nykl never getting one.

see the death ray exhibit and more...but Leeds is a bit far to commute, :-( Weta is very, very cool!

but I do know where Sword and the Stone is http://www.swordandstone.com/

Since Tony Swatton is actually a friend of mine, we had some of his swords in the formerly known as a store place...

We should make an excursion, as it is one big grownup toy store...and I usually can play with most things that are not behind a glass case when I stop by...I keep meaning to take postrophe by there.

Re: I wannnaaaaa
I actually have a couple stainless steel fingernails that Tony made for Marilyn Manson (he never paid for them, so they stayed in the shop, well, until we bought I couple of them) They aren't big armor, but they are made by Tony (or one of the apprentices that is...)
